As a 2018 graduate from Wilfrid Laurier University for Music Comprehensive, Hannah Autumn Flake is a well rounded and passionate, musician and teacher. She is a recipient of the Presidents Gold Scholarship and has performed with the WLU orchestra, enrolled in chamber programs, string pedagogy, and music therapy courses.

Upon moving back to the Niagara area she has taught in the elementary and high school private school system and provided after school programs for Choir and String Ensemble. She currently teaches private lessons in Ridgeway, ON Monday-Friday afternoon and evenings. Her studio, Encore Violin Academy opened in 2018 and focuses on beginner violin, Suzuki methods and passing on a love for music and the violin. Hannah arranges several concerts a year for students of all ages and abilities and provides a variety of local performing opportunities for her students.

 

Hannah is a preferred musician for wedding venues such as White Oaks in Niagara, The Buffalo Canoe Club in Crystal Beach, and South Coast Guest House in Port Colborne - she is personable and loves connecting with couples to fine tune the details of their song selections for a beautiful wedding itinerary. In a group setting, Hannah can be found performing with the Brock String Ensemble or with Grace Notes String Quartet.

Prior to her university studies, Hannah has been a member of the Junior Niagara Youth Orchestra and concertmaster of Niagara Youth Orchestra. She was the recipient of the Dr. Charles and Winifred Sankey Scholarship and travelled to Newfoundland for their orchestral exchange program. 

​

Nationally she has been professionally recorded and interviewed on Classical 94.5 for their Young Performers program in Buffalo, NY. Additional recordings and interviews have taken place in Stevensville, Ridgeway, and Fort Erie Ontario. 

​

Hannah has locally provided entertainment for the Ridgeway Farmers Market since 2010. This 2022 Summer Season she can be found at the Ridgeway, Port Colborne and Stevensville Markets. Hannah's community involvements also include: performing special music at the Fort Erie Friendship Festival, Party on the Patio fundraiser for the new Greater Fort Erie High School, Ridgeway Festival, Ridgeway's Spirit of Christmas, Ridgeway's Red Ribbon Art Show, Ridgeway's Water for Life fundraiser, Busker Festival St. Catherines, Stevensville Tree Lighting services, and Stevensville Community dinners and numerous local art festivals/showcases. She has additionally performed the national anthem for a variety of local locations and events such as the Mayor's Inaugural Ceremonies, the Welland County Motorcycle Club, and Communities in Bloom ceremony.

Her commitment to church music can be evidently seen within the Niagara Region. She has been part of a worship team since 2008 and has performed as a special guest within the region for many local churches and church functions.
